What is a Squeeze Page?

What on earth is a squeeze page, I hear you cry!

A Squeeze Pages is, in effect, a landing page on your website, where you capture the visitor’s details (ie, a prospective customer’s details) by offering something free, such as an eBook, white paper or a special deal.  Squeeze page plugins are also available for mobile technology.

Your ‘offer’ should only be delivered once the required information, such as an email address, has been entered and submitted.

This is quite possibly one of the simplest methods for collecting new leads and very powerful; however there are some provisos!

This is not just a ‘tick-box’ exercise; not only will squeeze pages help you grow a quality list, but help you to build relationships with your web visitors too.  As soon as your visitor arrives on your site, you need to:

  1. Capture their attention
  2. Identify how you and your business can help them (remember the ‘what’s in it for me?’ phrase) by explaining the benefits of opting-in to your website and/or newsletters
  3. Explain what action they should take to proceed.

Google squeeze pages and you’ll see they are wide and varied; you need not overcomplicate the process, overload the visitor with information or spend a fortune on design, but do bear in mind the 3 key points above.

And finally, remember for someone to want to exchange their details with you they must ‘buy-in’ to the solution you’re offering.
