The ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) was started as the Data Protection Registrar in 1984. It is now the UK’s independent authority for upholding information rights in the public interest, promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals. It is fundamental to upholding and maintaining the Data Protection Acts in this country.
The ICO requires every organisation and sole trader who processes personal information to register and pay a data protection fee to the ICO, unless they are exempt, and to maintain the requirements of the current data protection legislation.
Alison Page has been registered with the ICO as a Data Protection Officer since 2009. Registration number: Z1873150.
