Small Business Marketing Consultation

For start-ups and small businesses, we offer a 2-hour marketing session where we’ll discuss your business objectives, target audience, budget and tactics. This can either be done face to face (which is preferred) or via Microsoft Teams.

New Approach

We have found this approach particularly effective for small and micro businesses who might be feeling overwhelmed, have a small marketing budget, or perhaps at the start-up phase where you haven’t allocated any budget for marketing at all. Sound familiar? It happens far more often than you may think.

If this is a new approach for you and your business, or perhaps feels daunting, then remember what Albert Einstein taught us: “If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” Maybe it would be good to challenge yourself and try something new.

In advance of the meeting, we’ll ask you to identify your vision for the business and what you want to get out of our session. We’ll also review your website before we meet. After the meeting we’ll put together details of the activities and priorities we discussed.

What You’ll Receive

At the end of the session, you’ll go away with a list of tasks and priorities, and plenty of food for thought which will help you to determine your next steps.

You’ll gain the expertise of a Chartered Marketer to evaluate your business and help you determine the most appropriate steps for you to take, based upon your business objectives.

Unlike many specialists who will forcibly encourage you, albeit nicely, down the route of SEO (search engine optimisation), PPC (pay per click), social media or content marketing, we’ll consider the most appropriate ways for you to achieve your goals, based upon your business objectives whilst taking into consideration your target audience, your resources, and your budget. Whilst these particular marketing activities are all important within the overall marketing strategy and definitely have their place within a marketing plan, they might not be right for you, right now.

We’ll be honest and use our expertise and experience to guide you down the most appropriate path for you and your business, rather than selling our services. If you decide to go on and use our services in future, then we’ll be delighted to help you of course, but that’s not what the marketing session is about. It’s about helping small businesses to find their feet and giving good honest advice.

How You’ll Benefit

Alison Page Marketing was founded in 2009 and since then we have helped many businesses develop their offering, determine their USP, expand and grow, even through to the sale and exit of their business.

In advance of our marketing consultation, one business said:

“I am pondering a possible rebrand and/or additional new brand and I am looking for a third party to help shape my thoughts on the way forward. I suppose what I’m really looking for is an informed third party to challenge my thoughts and ask me difficult questions, look at things with fresh eyes, bring some ideas to the table that I can’t get from myself or the people in my office and perhaps make me think of things in a different way.”

And this is exactly what we delivered. The MD walked away with a fresh and different perspective and subsequently followed up on our suggestion of registering the company as a limited trading entity. Following our research in advance of the meeting, we were able to consider whether a rebrand was really necessary and whether there was an alternative approach that could address his issues. It was simple yet effective.

After a marketing session, one business said:

“Thank you. It was a helpful and thought provoking meeting. We have moved back out a couple of our programmes so we can focus on getting the marketing foundations in place. We have started with creating a Facebook Page and an Instagram Page – we now need to populate them and get followers and follow people! We can then connect them to the website! We have been looking at competitors too. We have also spent some time thinking about the problems of our ideal client and the solutions we can offer them. We will work through the other actions.”

We met these two ladies online via a virtual meeting. It was a pleasure meeting with them and guiding them on their new journey.
